Who are Poody and Berty? We are Clare Mayo and Jaq Thompson, sisters living in the Wye Valley and Forest of Dean. We were born in a small Gloucestershire village, and grew up surrounded by nature and the countryside. This gave us a lifelong love of animals and nature and is the inspiration behind most of our work.
Our pictures are made from mainly British Sheeps wool which is then needle felted onto natural linen. The designs are taken from photographs, sketches or simply out of our imagination. We also create needle felt animals, art work and cards and often do commissions of people’s pets. We use natural fabrics and materials for our products and beach combed treasures, to create gifts at modest prices which suit most pockets.
We are passionate about our work and are always on the look-out for exciting and interesting materials to use. It’s great working together and we both have different styles and ideas which this keeps everything fresh and evolving.
